The Soel Shuttle 14 offers the ideal platform for sustainable tours on the water. Whether operated in Rotterdam, Venice, the Bahamas or the Maldives, the solar electric boat offers emission and noise-free tours with unique PR values for its operator. Being designed, engineered and build according to Bureau Veritas rules and regulations, this solar electric ferry is perfectly suited for commercial operations. Currently the first two solar electric ferries of the newly developed Soel Shuttle 14 type are being shipped to their final destinations.
The 14m electric ferry offers space for up to 30 passengers. In its standard configurations the Soel Shuttle 14 is equipped with comfortable benches, however custom deck space wishes can be discussed. Furthermore, the shuttle boat is equipped with 4x 230 Wp glass glass solar panels, which highlights the sustainable character of the vessel and creates a light and welcoming interior. Comfortable seating and heavy-duty stainless steel luggage racks are ideal for daily shuttling operations. The hull design of the Soel Shuttle 14 is optimised for maximum efficiency and the need to provide reliable running hours.
With an installed battery capacity of 106 kWh and 80 kW of motor power from Naval DC the electric shuttle boat is set up for speeds up to 14 knots. At a cruising speed of 7 kts the vessel accomplishes a range of 45nm on battery power only. The technology accomplishes the highest safety ratings in every category and benefits from the teams experience with ocean-going solar electric systems for more than a decade and more than 500.000 nm logged on the open ocean.
All of these features and benefits were taken into account when the World Alliance Members of the Solar Impulse Foundation selected Soel Yachts’ solar electric boats as an ‘Efficient Solution’, passing a rigorous evaluation by a team of worldwide experts in the environment, technology and business management. The solution must match the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and is judged according to three criteria: feasibility, environmental impact, and profitability for the owner. This label is a strong message to operators and shows them that sustainable solutions exist, and represent the biggest market opportunity of our century. An opportunity which cannot be missed.
