Here are 6 recent World 1sts in electric boats
While I was writing out the article the other day about the World’s 1st Hydrogen River Boat, it occurred to me that I have typed that phrase ‘World’s First’ quite a few times in the past few months.
So I thought it might be fun to do a quick recap of them all in one place. Each image below links to the original article.
Together they give a vivid depiction of what an exciting time this is in electric boats and boating. (including hydrogen and hybrid)

World’s 1st Hydrogen River Boat: May 22, 2019
The Candela Speedboat Electric Hydrofoiling boat: May 20, 2019
I don’t think this was touted as a World 1st, but as far as I can tell this is the first production model of an electric hydrofoiling boat. If it’s not, let me know through the Contact Form at the bottom of the page.
World’s 1st hybrid pilot boat: May 7, 2019
World’s 1st electric oil carrier: March 27, 2019
This hasn’t been launched yet, but has been commissioned.
World’s 1st electric RIB workboat: February 4, 2019
This NaviWatt ZenPro580 was launched in 2018, but this is the date we covered it.
World’s 1st electric harbour skimmer: April 16, 2019
Similar to the electric oil carrier, this hasn’t been launched yet, but it has been commissioned
World’s first production electric hydrofoil board: April 23, 2019
This didn’t officially happen in the last few months, but the the world’s first production e-foil from Lift was noted in our review of electric hydrofoils.

Somehow this slipped our attention, maybe because it is not about a boat per se, but extremely important nonetheless!!
