The world’s largest indoor boat show – Boot Düsseldorf, better known as simply ‘Boot’ – begins January 18 with almost 100 electric boat exhibitors, including the electric boards and water toys.
Some selected highlights are below. We have done the best we can to cover everything, but there are probably some things left out. If you have something else that should be here, let us know in the Comments section at the bottom. The show is on until January 28.

European Powerboat of The Year and European Yacht of The Year
The announcement of the winners of these prestigious awards takes place the first night of Boot Düsseldorf and is always a high point of the week. Last year the Powerboat awards recognized the growth and importance of electric propulsion by introducing a separate ‘Electric’ Category to join the other categories (Up to 8m, 10m 14m, 20m, Long Range and Powercats.)
The inaugural winner was the X Shore 1 and this year’s nominees are:

The European Yacht of The Year awards sailboats, a sector in which electric propulsion – either standard or optional – is rapidly on the rise. Five of the 16 nominees haveelectric propulsion, so we will see how they do in the competition. Congratulations to all nominees in both awards and good luck!

Electric Boat Motors
There will be more than two dozen companies showing electric motors at Boot this year, but most of the new product launches took place a few months ago, at the METSTRADE Show. METS is very much a trade show, though, so this is the first time consumers will have a chance to get a look at some of these products.
BlueNav
BlueNav provides the solution for fossil fuel boat owners who want to reduce their environmental impact but can’t go all-electric for various reasons. The company gives them a way to add electric motors while keeping their fossil fuel set up, all done in a simple way. The BlueNav motors can be installed without altering the boat hull, and the pilot can simply switch from their combustion set up to their retractable electric BlueNav system. The system is getting great traction with larger boat owners and commercial operators, and at Boot BlueNav is broadening their market with a new 8kW unit. Hall 10 – Stand 10E74
ePropulsion will have their complete lineup on display, everything from the Spirit EVO and Navy EVO outboards to the eLite rudder style outboard to their inboard motors ranging from 10kW to 100kW with and accompanying battery packs, including the new 20kW Pod Drive that was introduced at METS. EPTechnologies
EPT will have their new Falcon outboard at Boot, with an axial flux motor that produces continuous power of 130 kW and peak power of 230 kW (≈ hp ) and has an independently revolving lower leg and adjustable shaft length. They will also be showing their Drop In Z-Drive (Inboard / Outboard) unit (power from 40 – 400 kW and battery energy storage of 70 – 500 kWh) and SD rotating Saildrive (10, 25, 30, 40, 60, 80 kW) and LV Solid State batteries. EVOA
EVOA is a US motor manufacturer that packs a ton of power into their axial flux motors. They are the ones iconic boat brand ChrisCraft went to see for their first electric model, and the company had three boats nominated in the Gussies Electric Boat Awards. Their specialty is bringing high power electric motors to wakeboarding and watersport boats and other manufacturers who are looking for speed and power.
For the Mastercraft NXT21 they put in their patented E1 system, with a dual motor 400 HP configuration and 133 kWh battery capacity. The Supra EV550 has a more robust 155KWH battery capacity in order to deliver over 400 horsepower and 550lb-ft of torque. When they were asked by Williams Jet Tenders to collaborate on do an electric version of the company’s popular EvoJet 70 model, the team came up with a single axial flux motor setup to match the 250 hp Yanmar that propelld the fossil fuel version. Evoy
Evoy supplied the motors for the Axopar 25e that won The Gussies in 2023 in the Under 8m / 26 ft category. Since then they have joined with Axopar on the boatyard’s new all-electric AX/E line. The new line has a section in the larger Axopar stand at Boot, and you can see both new models, the 25e and the 22e, along with an Evoy Storm 300+ outboard. Hall 4 – Stand B59
Explomar
This new entry to the high power electric outboard market was also at METS and will be exhibiting at Boot. They have three models, the WAVE 70+, WAVE 150+ and WAVE 300+, and first came to the e-boating world’s attention when they installed two of the WAVE 300s on an Italian 11 metre (36 ft) rigid inflatable boat (RIB). Like the EVOA motors, the Explomars use high power-to-weight ratio axial flux motors that got the RIB up to a speed of 38 knots (44 mph / 70 kmh) with 6 people aboard. Hall 9 – Stand 9C78
Integrel
Integrel is not technically an electric boat motor, but they have developed and proven a very effective way to make fossil fuel motors more efficient and environmentally friendly, in an electric way. You have probably heard and are aware that fossil fuel boat motors waste a LOT of energy. That is because there is a variable but substantial power difference between an engine’s optimal efficiency load and the boat propeller’s load. Integrel’s E-Power system collects that spare power and uses it stores some of it in 48V battery bank. At Boot 2025 they are launching a version for powerboat motors up to 1,000 hp. Mitek
Mitek is an Italian manufacturer that has a complete range of motors of varying power ratings – outboards, inboard, saildrives, pods – and will have samples of all on display at Boot. The company has also come up with a very clever outboard idea at MET that was nominated for a DAME Design Award. In their REVOLVE outboard, the motor sits in a bracket that looks like a C-Clamp and is attached at the bottom to the lower unit. To steer the boat, the lower unit and bracket turn together. The real innovation, though, occurs when the motor is turned off. The bracket turns to be flush with the transom, then the entire unit revolves out of the water to tuck away against the transom above the water line. Hall 10, Booth G63.
Molabo
Molabo is a German company that has a patented ISCAD motor technology that (without getting too deep into the technical details), enables them to build motors of up to 50 kiloWatts that operate on touch safe 48 volts. The higher voltages that are required for other 50kW motors also require higher voltage which in turn requires special training and safety precautions for installers and maintenance people. The Molabo Aries 50 inboards and outboards will be at Boot, along with a new 25 kW inboard – the Aries i25 – that brings the technical efficiencies advantages of ISCAD technology to a smaller, motor with an attractive price point. Oceanvolt
Speaking of DAME Awards, Oceanvolt walked away with everything at the 2023 DAMEs, winning not just the propulsion category (beating out a few fossil fuel entries along the way) but also receiving the overall Best of Show at the prestigious awards. This was for their HP (High Power) Servoprop 25. It will be on display and you can find out more about it – along with the overall servoprop technology that makes Oceanvolt the leader in hydrogenerating electric motors for sailboats and also won a DAME Award itself in 2015.
Rim Drive Technologies
In a rim drive motor the propeller blades are not attached to a central axle, but instead are fixed to the outer rim of a cylinder. Rim Drive Technology is the leader in these types of motors and has two new outboards that can be easily added to the transom of any boat. The Entry Level outboard comes in five power ratings: kiloWatts: 3, 4.2, 5, 11 (hp equivalents: 4, 6, 7, 15) and has a tiller and trim/tilt bracket with five positions. The Steerable Outboard is a remote steering model with all of the electric steering technology encompassed in a cowling that fixes to the transom of the and has a revolving lower leg or lower unit that can turn a full 360º. There are two power options: 11 and 15 kW (≈15 and 20 hp).
TEMO
TEMO has won numerous awards for its innovative ‘wand’ electric motors that have a control trigger at one end, a propeller and motor at the other and a battery encased in the wand itself. At last year’s Boot they introduced the TEMO 1000, an integrated electric outboard in a rudder configuration. Now they have a line of ‘Seaside’ pods, now available for shipyards with a launch for the general public during the next sailing season.
The Seaside pods are “Plug & Play” and available in three power levels – 450, 1000 and 3,000 watts. The systems are complete, but modular, with one of the attractive innovations being a removable battery system that allows users to manage their autonomy by selecting the number of cassettes they need according to their uses. Yanmar
Yanmar sells more saildrives than anyone else in the world, and until this year all of them have been pumping carbon and fossil fuel fumes into the air. They launched their first electric saildrives at Cannes in September, which went on to win the DAME Ward for Propulsion at this year’s METS. Düsseldorf is the first opportunity for the mainstream boating audience to see them. Designed to provide an easy transition to electric sailing with no hull modification needed (for boat owners or boat builders on new models), they integrate into existing footprints as a drop-in replacement.The E-Saildrive is available in three models – the SDe7 kW, the SDe10 kW and the SDe15 kW, delivering up to 15kW of power for sailboats up to 40ft LOA. Electric Powerboats
Frauscher
Fresh off the win for the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air as European Powerboat of the Year, Boot sees the launch of the latest collaboration with Porsche, the 850 Fantom Air, which has the same classic lines, same Porsche Macan Turbo all-electric drive, but adds a ‘cajute’ (small sleeping room) in the enclosed bow. There is luxe space for seven and the model comes in a striking Porsche Oakgreen Metallic Neo with upholstery in truffle brown. Hall 5 – Stand 5C21
Kaebon
The Kaebon EB EINS was a finalist last January in the electric category of the European Powerboat of the Year award, and returns to Düsseldorf this year with a new aerofoil (above the hull, different from a hydrofoil) and new propulsion option – the RAD 40 with rotating lower leg. It is a striking boat, with curving sensuous lines that evoke a modern take on the classic gentleman racers of the early 20th century. Made of carbon fibre, the hull of the EB EINS weighs only 90 kg (210 lb) and is made to optimize the range and speed of any electric motor. It can handle 4 passengers easily, making for a great day on the water. Hall 3 – Stand 3C32.12
Chantier CPC
Last year CPC helped Les Canalous, one of France’s largest boat rental / boat hire companies, upgraded a CPC 5-cabin, 12 passenger houseboat – a “pénich” – with an ePropulsion electric I-20 inboard system. Now the company is building their own model, the LaPéniche eXP, from scratch that adds to environmental friendliness with a full range of features. In addition to electric propulsion, the 15 metre houseboat has a 14 kW biofuel generator, 1760 W solar panels, 80kWh of energy storage in a LiFePo battery, 1080 litres of biofuel tanks and a system for treating canal water so it can be used onboard in non-fresh water applications. Lumen
Dutch builder Lumen Yachts took its new electric model, the LUMEN E10, to the Cannes Yachting Festival last September ad now brings it to Düsseldorf. The striking 10.5 m (34 reet) open sloop easily accommodate 10 passengers and has been designed as a day cruiser for inland waterways or tender / exploring boat for yachts. Jaap de Jonge, Founder of JR e-Yachts and Lumen Yachts, collaborated with the celebrated MULDER Design firm on the boat, which can delivers a range of 120 to 160 kilometers on a single charge with its advanced hull design, lightweight construction, and premium materials. Pischel RIBLine
Pischel, based in Cologne, Germany, has been building boats since 1896 and now sports a full line of more than 20 RIBs from 2.7 to 8.5 metres (9 – 29 feet.) At Boot they are debuting their first venture into electric propulsion with a RIB built and designed with New Zealand’s ZeroJet electric jet motor builders. The company is very impressed with this new technology, saying “The electric jet propulsion offers fast acceleration, high speeds and exceptional maneuverability that surpasses the performance of classic combustion engines. You experience quiet and environmentally friendly driving pleasure – perfect for sporty rides and quiet explorations. You can find the Pischel RIB at Hall 9 – Stand 9A22. Twiel
Düsseldorf 2025 is the site of the world launch of the Twiel Z7, a handsome combination of a 21st century hull form with 19th century wooden boat craftsmanship. The boat combines catamaran hulls with a distinctive bow and graceful curves all the way along its 7.9 metres (26 feet.) Designed to allow for both short spurts of speed and long periods of relaxed cruising, it has the ePropulsion I20 inboard as propulsion and surrounds it with an elegant sculpture of meticulously finished abachi, ,mahogany and local pine from the area near boatyard’s home on Lake Constance, the meeting place of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
X Shore
Swedish electric boat pioneer X Shore is expanding their model line with the new X Shore 1 Bowrider. It will join the other existing X Shore 1 models (Open and Top), the company’s flagship Eelex 800 and the X Shore Pro workboat. The new Bowrider was announced in November, but Boot Düsseldorf is the first public look at something that was, fittingly, driven by customer feedback about the X Shore 1. X Shore President Rene Hansen said many potential electric boat buyers were looking for an e-boat that fits in more with the bowrider lifestyle, particularly in the US where the open concept is very popular.

Imatjet
How can you not love this? A floating lounge chair that has 2 electric motors so you can zip around to see your friends at a cruising speed of 2 knots whie you also soak up the sun! The batteries provide at least one and a half hours of fun at boozing speed (oops, meant to say cruising speed.) It comes with a bag and trolley for easy transportation is inflated in just a few minutes and is made by Imtech, a manufacturer of high-precision milling and turning parts, who must have great summer company parties! Darth Craft
Okay, and how can you not love this? The Darth Craft is fully operational 1.7 meter (5′ 6″) child-friendly watercraft that captures all the excitement of a big boat in a format ideal for kids. Designed in Italy and manufactured in Slovenia, it has a fiberglass hull and PVC tubesand has ergonmic seating that comfortably fits up to two children or one adult acting like a child. It comes with an adapted trolling motor, and – best of all – has built in Bluetooth-enabled speakers and…wait for it…a front facing water gun! Hall 1 / 1B01
Otter
The OTTER Explorer isn’t about breaking speed records with oversized motors or massive batteries, in fact you are part of the drive train. Two pedal generators transform mechanical energy into electrical energy which, together with with battery power, gets fed to the motors achieving cruising speeds of up to 12 kmh (7.5 mph), which is a pretty good clip. The cruising range is practically unlimited – depending on the battery assistance you decide on (and how much energy YOU have!).
Electric Sailboats
Dufour
It was about a year ago that Luxury French builder Dufour introduced its ‘Smart Electric’ solution, a hybrid system with batteries powering an electric motor and also serve as an energy source for all onboard systems. The hydrogenerating motor can be used to charge the batteries, while there is also a diesel generator that kicks in automatically if the battery capacity reaches 30%. The system is now available on 5 of Dufour’s 6 models, and two of them will be at Düsseldrof, the Dufour 41 and the spaciously sporty Dufour 44. Hall 16 – Stand 16B39
HH Catamarans
Last month Sailing Magazine named the HH 44 its Boat of the Year. It is one of three cats from HH that will be at Boot, the other two being the HH 44-SC and HH 52 SC. The award winning 44 features 100% electric porpulsion, a solar array and hydrogeneration, while the other two models used the company’s EcoDrive Parallel Hybrid Electric/Diesel propulsion system. From the HH website: “The 2024 “Boat of the Year” has been designed from the ground up with electrification in mind. For those seeking “the yacht of the future” with a perfect balance of style, performance, safety and comfort, the future is now…”

Every X-Yacht is designed with performance in mind – and the X4⁹E is no exception. The X4⁹E is the first X-Yacht built as a hybrid-powered yacht. It is fitted with 2 x 10 kW electric saildrives, a 28,8 kWh Lithium battery bank and an onboard DC generator with a capacity of 11 kW.
The hybrid concept is chosen to make long-distance crossings possible without worrying about distance limitations. A pure electric solution is also available if limited distance under engine can be accepted.
