Plugboats Guide to 2025 Miami Boat Show and Electric Pavilion
Electric boats and boating are having a larger presence than ever at this year’s Miami International Boat Show (MIBS), with the Electric Pavilion moving outside to a prime location.
The gathering of e-boats and motors is being presented by Nautical Ventures and MIBS organizers Informa Group in Pride Park, just outside the Miami Beach Convention Center, and adjacent to the Nautical Ventures’ ever popular AquaZone.
The AquaZone is a 60′ x 30′, 40,000-gallon fresh water pool with in-water demos, hands-on testing, contests & prizes. In addition to other non-electric water toys and marine products, electric demos will be presented by Awake jetboards and e-foils, ePropulsion motors (paired with the Phantom roto-moulded boat by Vision Marine Technologies ), the SeaNXT underwater scooter, Taiga electric jetskis, Torqeedo motors, and YuJet electric surfboards.
The Electric Pavilion
This is the third year that Nautical Ventures has been involved with the Electric Pavilion and comes just after they were named the Boating Industry 2024 Dealer of the Year in January. The company has eight retail dealerships, one rental operation, two full-service marinas, one rigging facility, one warehouse, and a variety of divisions, one of which is the Electric Boat Division. All of the e-boats and water sport toys shown at the Electric Pavilion and AquaZone are available from NV.
Alfastreet Yachts
This Slovenian boatyard was founded in 1999 and introduced its first electric boat in 2014. They now have four all-electric cruising models, ranging from 21 to 28 feet (6.3m – 9.8m). They pride themselves on boutique boat production and distinctive Alfastreet designs that mix traditional and modern elements.With spacious layouts, lots of room for sunbathing and dining and innovative galley options, they are very popular on Europe’s inland waterways. As fas we know, though, this is the first time they have had a substantial presence at a US boat show.
E-Propulsion will have their full slate of consumer electric motors on display, including the Elite .5 kW motor with integrated battery that weighs in at only 14.7 pounds (6.7 kg) and is now available with adjustable shaft length from 11.1 to 15.8 inches (282.5 – 401 mm)
Flux Marine and Highfield RIBs
Highfield is the world’s largest manufacturer of RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats) and offers a number of models with electric drive. The largest of them will be at The Electric Pavilion, a Highfield 660. At 22 feet it has enough seating for all the family, with more than enough space to relax and entertain, while still being a manageable size for slipping & towing. The boat pairs seamlessly with the Flux 100 hp (74 kW) all-electric outboard, giving a cruising range of 30 miles (50 km) and a top speed of 34 mph (58 lmh / 31 kt).
Four Winns H2e
At MIBS 2024 the Four Winns H2 was announced as the winner of the Runabout category in the Boat of the Year awards from BOATING Magazine. Powered by the 180E electric outboard from Vision Marine Technologies – with peak power of 230HP and the huge torque of an electric motor – it jumps out of the hole and delivers rapid acceleration and top speed of approximately 35 knots (40mph). Two high voltage, high density, 700v battery packs, complete with a fully integrated powerful onboard charger, can be plugged into any dock shore power system for quick recharging.
Lion Energy has a range of LiFePO4 / LFP batteries (lithium iron phosphate) along with solar panels, power banks and other accessories.
Mercury Marine will have their Avator transflux electric outboards and battery packages at the Pavilion: Avator 7.5e, 20e, 35e, and 75e.
Taiga
Taiga started out developing electric snowmobiles and quickly realized their technology could be quite easily adapted to jetskis. At MIBS they will be showing their Orca, the first mass-produced, 100% electric personal watercraft. The Performance model can reach a top speed of 62 mph (100 km/h), with a unique hull shape designed to combine speed with exceptional maneuverability. The 120 kW motor gives a range of up to 2 hours and can be charged with Level 2 or Level 3 charging (time to charge 0-80%: 3.5 hrs and 40 minutes repectively.)
Vision Marine Technologies
In addition to the Phantom and the 180e electric outboard on the Four Winns H2E, VMT will have their Fantail 217 model at the Pavilion. It’s a timeless classic cruiser and one of the company’s best sellers over the years, racking up almost 50,000 bookings over multiple years in rental operations. Its open bow and covered midship area creates the perfect setting for enjoying snacks and drinks and the Fantail has been providing great times on board everywhere from the crystal-clear channels of the Bahamas to California’s harbour communities to inland waterways to the serene lakes of Canada.
X Shore recently launched their latest model, the X Shore 1 Bowrider, as a response to the many US boat owners who love the electric boat experience but are also looking for a model that fits in with their on-water lifestyle.
Other electric boat and motor exhibitors
Apart from the Electric Pavilion, there are a number of other electric boats exhibitors, inside the Miami Beach Convention Center main hall, a two minute stroll from the Electric Pavilion.
ACEL Power
ACEL debuted their high power electric outboards at last year’s MIBS and are back this year with both their motors and live demos on the water. On exhibit will be their 50 HP (≈37 kW)and 250 HP (≈185 kW) systems, with the 75 HP (≈55 kW) powering the boat used in the demos. All of the models are totally integrated with proprietary ACEL battery packs and BMS (Battery Management System), digital throttle, a smart charger, smart key and centralized computer with touch screen. E-Force Marine
E-Force Marine is launching the Aurora e30, a fully electric catamaran featuring a 10ft beam and powered by E-Force’s Aurora E-Drive System. The e30 delivers a 35 mph top speed (30 kts, 56 kmh), an 80-mile (130 km) range on a single charge, and an extended-range option for longer cruising. “Al Haghayegh, founder of E-Force Marine, says “in 2020, I wanted to repower my boat with an electric system, but no one in the U.S. could provide what I needed. So I built it myself. Now, we’re making electric boating a reality for everyone.” Beyond its own vessels, E-Force Marine offers scalable electric drive systems for boat builders and OEMs. Booth MB7065.
EVOA
Another company that made a big impression one year ago at MIBS is electric motor and system manufacturer/designer EVOA. They were have their axial flux motors and batteries – which use the same cells as the batteries used in Formula E electric racing cars – on display. At last year’s Electric Pavilion they also showcased an EV 550 Supra towboat powered by the EVOA 440 hp (325 kW) motor and drive train.
Godfrey Pontoons
Godfrey is one of the top builders of pontoon boats and is widely known for quality of construction and detailing. They were also one of the first pontoon manufacturers to enter the electric space with the launch in 2022 of The ‘Mighty G’, 15′ 7″ model with 7′ 6″ beam. A shortened deck height off those full-sized tubes creates a stiffer chassis that lowers the pontoon’s centre of gravity and helps contribute to efficiency and added performance for the electric motors. Pelagion
The Pelagion HydroBlade bills itself as “The first stand-up electric hydrofoil with steering capabilities.” We’ve included the picture here because it is hard to describe in words. It’s part stand up jetski, part foiling board, sits on three points like a tricycle and has handlebars like a trike for the rider to both steer and maintain balance. It is all powered by two 2 x 8kW peak electric motors that – because of the hydrofoiling – give the Pelagion a run time of up to 4 hours and top speed of 40 knots (46 mph / 74 km). You can see it at Booth MB401L in the Convention Center lobby.
Miami Innovation Awards
One of the industry highlights of MIBS is the Innovation Awards, honouring manufacturers and suppliers who bring new, innovative products for the boating industry to market. The Miami program offers twenty-one product categories for entry, including Alternative Propulsion (electric motor/battery powered, hybrid, hydrogen, solar, and other emerging and alternative propulsion technologies).
Past winners include the ePropulsion eLite, Mercury Avator 7.5e, e-Motion Parallel and Serial Hybrid system and the Ingenity Electric Drive. Nominees are not announced before the awards, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top this year.

The 70e maintains identical top speed and nearly the same weight as its ICE counterpart. Alongside its performance, the EvoJet 70e is true to the fit and finish of all quality Williams Jet Tender products. This boat was first debuted in Cannes Yacht and Boat Show, then again in Monaco’s on water yacht and boat show. The boat features a single axial flux motor setup to match the 250 hp Yanmar that previously propelled this boat. In place of the 52 gallon gas, a 58.5kWh battery powers this boat for an estimated time on throttle of 58 minutes.
